The BSc Economics trains students to apply the principles and theories of natural science to the concepts and logic of mathematics. Professional economists utilize their skills in the business, social sciences, and humanities fields.

This degree is recommended if you:

• Have a good grasp of mathematics and enjoy the study of economics

• Wish to pursue a career as an economist in academia, industry, finance or government.

Programme Structure

The degree consists of 12 units when taken through the Standard Route and 9 units through the Graduate Entry Route.

This degree offers career avenues in industry, finance, government or international organisations as an international economist, econometrician, labour economist, public finance economist, financial economist, organisational economist or as a banker, broker, market analyst, claim adjuster, systems analyst, inventory control specialist, demographer, geographer, legislative assistant or business journalist.
